Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Julia Beattie began singing and studying piano at the age of 3. She furthered her musical eduction at the University of Ottawa and has performed and toured as harmony vocalist and keyboardist for indie rolk rock bands across Canada. Her musical projects have performed at Osheaga 2014 and shared the stage with The Glorious Sons, The Trews, Lights, Shad, July Talk, One Bad Son, Texas King, Wild Rivers and many more. Now a mom of 2, she has returned to Kingston to play with soft rock group Tiny Horse.
Tiny Horse is comprised of musicians Rae Corcoran, Ciara Roberts, Julia Beattie, and Harvey Dolphin. Their upbeat and catchy tunes play out the stories of lovers' quarrels, overheard conversations, unexpected friendships and internal monologues. Their indie folk sound references a range of musical influences from Big Thief to the Barenaked Ladies, Phoebe Bridgers to Paul Simon.
Tiny Horse is currently recording their debut album.
